We’ve been covering buying your first home or an investment property to some extent here, in Home I Own, but there is another category of properties we barely touched – holiday homes.
Having a holiday home has never crossed my mind until one day, a friend offered me and my family to spend a couple of days in his ‘weekender’ – a beautiful house with amazing views in regional Victoria.
The few days we spent there had quite an effect on me. From something that I didn’t think about at all, holiday homes became a matter that was on my mind for quite a bit. At first it was purely a dream, something that only the rich can afford, a picture from a Hollywood movie.
