You might have heard about window tints on vehicles with the purpose to reduce the amount of heat and radiation from the sun entering the interior of the car. However, the benefits you get from window tinting should not end in your car especially since the sun can have harmful effects even in the comfort of your home.

While the sun provides light to create a more spacious feel for your home or heat that you would want especially in winter, it can threaten the quality of your furniture and the damages might be ultimately irreversible especially during the summer when the sun and its heat is at full strength.

The sun can also harm people even when they are staying inside of their homes. Very few people take safety precautions from the sun when they’re indoors since they do not realize that they can sustain sun damage from the comforts of their home.

A recent study found that the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation can penetrate windows and reach the skin which would accelerate skin aging by several years. In addition to accelerating skin aging, exposure to UV rays would also increase the risk of skin cancer.
However, the risks that come with sunlight entering your home aren’t the only problems with having glass windows. Windows can sometimes make you feel as if people outside can see a little too much of the what goes on inside your home and while curtains and blinds are often a good solution, it does not allow natural light to enter your home as well.

While houses with a lot of glass windows have a definite upside, the disadvantages are also hard to ignore especially when it impacts your health and security.

Luckily, it’s possible to reduce or eliminate these negative effects while increasing the level of comfort of your home through residential window tinting. Window tinting comes with several perks for your home which is tackled in this infographic by Global Tint.
